1 | Fall 2022 classes begin on Monday, August 15, 2022, and end on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The week of November 14 consists of holiday make-up days for Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. The College will operate on a MONDAY class schedule on November 14 and on a FRIDAY class schedule on November 15. |
2 | The reading period is subject to change in the event inclement weather or other extraordinary conditions occur during the semester and necessitate additional class make-up days at the end of the semester. Students should not make travel plans during the scheduled reading period. |
3 | Civil Procedure Section 301 meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm and on Fridays from 10:30 pm - 11:50 pm. Because of the different class times, the course appears twice in the catalog view of the schedule. |
4 | Introduction to Analytical Skills I will meet for 10 weeks during the semester, from the week of August 15 through the week of October 17. |
5 | Second-year students in the full-time program must take Constitutional Law II and Evidence in Fall 2022. |
6 | Appellate Advocacy is a required course for students who enter the College of Law in Fall 2021 and later. Students who are in their second year in 2022-2023 must complete this upper-level course as part of the required curriculum. |
7 | Prerequisites: Legal Research and Writing I and Legal Research and Writing II. |
8 | Criminal Procedure Survey -- Students who have taken LAW 6117 Criminal Procedure: Arrest and Investigation may not enroll in Criminal Procedure Survey. |

10 | Prerequisites have been waived for International Law of the Use of Force and Armed Conflict. |

14 | Law Clinic – Application and permission required. Once a student accepts an offer for a clinic position, the Registrar will provide registration permission for course registration. 15 | Law Clinic Meeting Time and Mandatory Orientation – The meeting time for Law Clinics will be determined in coordination with students enrolled. Students enrolling in a clinic must attend a mandatory orientation. The clinic faculty will set the date and time of the orientation. |

18 | Students may satisfy the Upper-Level Writing Requirement via a seminar, independent research paper, in an approved advanced drafting course or by writing a note as a member of the FAMU Law Review that is accepted for publication in a co-curricular law school journal and is certified by the faculty advisor for the FAMU Law Review. 19 | Independent Research -- Permission required.
